We were delighted to participate, together with @RISC, in the press conference presenting the conversion of the Revised National Disability Strategy and Action Plan 2024–2028 into Easy-to-Read (“Text for All”) format.
During the event, we had the honour of speaking with the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Ms Klea Hadjistephanou Papaellina, as well as with the Acting Director of the Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, Ms Christina Flourentzou-Kakouri, and presenting our project, “ProDiavgeia – Accessible Information on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Easy-to-Read and Pictorial Representation.”
We also had a particularly constructive discussion with the Director General of the Cyprus Medical Association, Ms Katerina Christofidou, on the importance of accessible communication and information for persons with intellectual disabilities when receiving healthcare services and undergoing medical examinations.
Accessible information is a fundamental right and an essential prerequisite for the equal participation of everyone in society. We remain committed to working towards a society without barriers, where information is truly accessible to all.
